Maintaining resin cure temperature across large wind turbine blade molds.
Why It Matters
Wind turbine blades are cured from large composite layups — resin and fiberglass or carbon fiber over a mold that can run the length of the blade. The resin needs to hold a specific cure temperature evenly across that entire length, or the cure comes out inconsistent: soft spots, incomplete bonding, or a longer cure cycle than the schedule allows for. Building an enclosure large enough to oven-cure a blade mold is its own construction project before curing even starts.
A curing blanket wraps the mold directly instead, using the same heat-spreading technology across any length required, and holds the cure temperature there without a room-sized oven around it.
